Winter Fundraising Campaign
Finding good homes for good kitties is at the heart of what we do, but the behind-the-scenes action, journey, and cost to get a single cat cleared for adoption is much greater and more expensive than you may think. Before any cat in our care can make their grand debut on our adoption CATalog, they must be medically cleared, vaccinated, microchipped, and completely healthy.
Most incoming cats to our shelter lack basic vaccinations, and many come to us sick or needing life-saving surgery.
Did you know it costs well over $100 for us to provide the minimum amount of medical intake care for each cat we save? That is our absolute minimum cost of care that every incoming cat requires, like initial vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and additional wellness testing. Our basic costs are just the beginning of our commitment to making sure only healthy kitties go home with great families. This per-cat expense does not including life-saving surgeries like Butters' broken jaw, Marianne’s eye removal, or even Millie's eye treatments. On average, it costs us more than $150,000 a year to provide medical care and life saving procedures for our saved cats. This is where we need your immediate support and donations.
Good Mews receives zero government or public funding, so our success depends on donations from caring people, just like you. Know that your full tax-deductible gift will be used to save the lives of all the cats we touch, provide for their time in our no-kill, cage-free facility, and will ensure they get a chance at a loving forever home.
THANK YOU for your generosity in this season of giving. You have not only made this possible for us
to find good homes for good for almost 35 years, but you have saved countless lives. This is only
possible with your partnership. Can we count on your support as we begin a new year of saving lives?
